Sandy Coor VFW Post 1433 proudly lives by the Veterans of Foreign Wars motto:

Since 1926, our Post has remained committed to serving veterans, military families, youth, and the Glendale community through patriotism, service, fellowship, advocacy, and volunteerism.

As veterans who once stood in defense of freedom around the world, we continue serving our community here at home through:

  • Veteran outreach and support

  • Americanism and patriotic education programs

  • Community service initiatives

  • Youth scholarship and scouting programs

  • Memorial and remembrance ceremonies

  • Volunteer and civic engagement activities


Our History

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1433 was chartered on March 26, 1926, and named in honor of Marine Corporal Sandy Coor, who gave his life in France in 1919 during World War I.

His sacrifice remains a lasting symbol of courage, patriotism, and devotion to duty, inspiring generations of veterans who continue serving under his name.


Continuing the Mission of Service

Sandy Coor Post 1433 proudly welcomes combat veterans and eligible service members from all eras and branches of military service.

Whether you served during:

  • Lebanon and Grenada

  • The Persian Gulf War

Great American Flag Tour

In anticipation of the 250th birthday of the United States on July 4, 2026, I will personally complete flying a locally made American Flag at all 50 state capitols, following the completion at the Arizona state capitol on Saturday, October 25 at 10 a.m. (To this point, I have flown the flag in 48 states, with the 49th coming on September 29 at the Oregon state capitol.).
